The Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) is launching a campaign focused on human trafficking.
In a partnership with #NotInMyCity, YQQ will raise awareness, educate staff and passengers, and strengthen efforts to combat human trafficking within the aviation sector.
Airport CEO Mike Atkins said they’re proud to stand alongside the initiative to contribute to a safer community.
“Partnering with #NotInMyCity allows us to take meaningful action in the fight against human trafficking by increasing awareness and providing our team with the tools to recognize and respond to potential risks.”
Through the partnership, YQQ will implement the awareness campaign and train staff to identify and prevent cases of human trafficking.
Founder of #NotInMyCity, Paul Brandt said they’re excited to partner with the Comox Valley Airport.
“As our network of partners committed to identifying and preventing human trafficking grows, we become stronger in our nationwide fight to end the crime of human trafficking and exploitation in Canada,”
#NotInMyCity is a national movement started to prevent and end incidents of human trafficking in Canada.
The partnership will seek to create a safer travelling environment and contribute to the fight against human trafficking.
