CVRD seeking feedback for the future of Maris Nature Park

The future of Maris Nature Park will be established with the help of community input.

A survey has been released by the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) to identify park values and features important to the community.

Electoral Area C Director Edwin Grieve said the public’s feedback is important to see what changes people might want to see at the Nature Park.

“Although there may be some restrictions to consider for the park, I look forward to learning what the community sees as the immediate and long-term direction for this exceptional foreshore property.”

Parks staff will be on site at three locations over the next month to provide more information to residents.

The first is on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. at the MARS Wildlife Rescue Open House, then May 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Eagles Drive Park trail entrance, and May 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sarah and Brian McLoughlin Nature Park.

As staff works through the management planning process, the CVRD is asking the public not to enter the park.

The survey is live until May 30 and takes roughly three to five minutes to complete and can be found here.
