Search warrant in Cumberland leads to several substances, items consistent with drug trafficking

A Comox Valley RCMP drug trafficking investigation has led to the arrest of two people and numerous items seized.

A search warrant was executed on May 21 on Hope Road in Cumberland, with two people arrested as a result.

During the search, investigators seized several different substances believed to be illicit drugs including fentanyl, Canadian currency, a taser, and various items consistent with what investigators believe to be drug trafficking.

Officer in Charge of the Comox Valley RCMP Ins. Scott Mercer said Cumberland will not tolerate drug trafficking and is closed for business.

“The execution of this search warrant serves to deliver a clear message – if you engage in drug trafficking, harbour or invite this type of activity, we will stop you.”

Police are continuing to examine all the evidence, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information on the incident or other drug trafficking related activity is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP.
