RCMP launching campaign for youth encouraging good behaviour for the summer

A new initiative from the RCMP is hoping to encourage youth to do good this summer.

Members of the Comox Valley RCMP will look for youth engaging in safe and healthy activities, and positive community interactions.

Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP Cst. Monika Terragni said the initiative is one of the highlights of their summer.

“Officers love connecting with youth in such a positive way, it’s not every day we get to hand out ‘tickets’ that make someone smile.”

Tickets will be handed out for behaviour such as wearing a helmet when riding something, crossing streets at marked crosswalks, acts of kindness, being active outdoors and more.

Youth who earn a ticket will be rewarded with vouchers for either a free activity or a treat from a local business or organization.

Any interested businesses interested in joining the initiative are asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP.
