Cumberland water systems moving to Stage 2 restrictions August 1

Tighter restrictions are coming to the Cumberland water system at the end of the week.

The Village of Cumberland announced Stage 2 water restrictions come into effect on Friday, August 1, to further help conserve water for the rest of the summer and into the fall.

Lawn watering and sprinkling will now only be allowed on Wednesdays for even numbered addresses and Thursdays for odd numbered addresses from 4:00 – 10:00 a.m. or 7:00- 10:00 p.m.

Trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables can be watered with a sprinkler on any day between the same times under the new restrictions.

Stage 2 restrictions will not allow people to wash sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, exterior windows or exterior building surfaces unless necessary for applying products like paint or preservative.
