Minister of National Defense in Campbell River

The Minister of National Defence Jason Kenny was in Campbell River this weekend.

Kenny was appointed the position in 2015, and sits on the Cabinet Committees for Foreign Affairs and Security & Planning and Priorities.

Kenny says Canadians should not overstate the threat of terrorism, but the country shouldn’t stick their heads in the sand and pretend like it doesn’t exist.

North Island-Powell River Conservative candidate Laura Smith says Kenny is someone who she has a lot of respect for and has been a very effective minister.

Smith says she always learns something new when Kenny speaks and is happy he came to support the riding.
