Suspect in Alberta murder case identified

Alberta RCMP confirm 22 year old Derek James Saretzky has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of indignity to a body in the deaths of Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette and her father, Terry Blanchette.

Police say the two men knew each other, however no further details have been provided.

Saretzky is from Blairmore, where Blanchette and his daughter also lived.

Saretzky is set to to make his first court appearance in Sept. 23 in Lethbridge.

RCMP say the body of the child was found on Tuesday in a rural area outside Blairmore, and police say the indignity to a body charge against Saretzky, is linked to the toddler.
