Officials investigating “security breach” after pro-Palestinian sign appears on B.C. parliament

Officials at the British Columbia parliament building are investigating after a pro-Palestinian sign was attached to the front of the building overnight.

A photo posted to social media shows a white banner hanging from the front of the building, with the words “FREE PALESTINE ECONOMIC SANCTIONS.”

“An external security breach took place overnight (Aug. 13-14, 2025) at the Parliament Buildings,” said the Office of the Clerk in a brief statement to Vista news. “The matter is being taken very seriously, and a full investigation is underway.”

The office did not provide further information as the investigation is ongoing.

The sign was removed sometime Thursday morning.
