Comox Valley Food Bank launches fundraiser to help with back to school

The Comox Valley Food Bank is working to support local children now that the school year is in full swing.

Communications manager Chris Arruda says the local food bank has launched a fundraiser raffle to help with raising funds to continue its mission of providing nutritious food to families in the area, with a focus on supporting children through the school year.

Comox Valley Food Bank communications manager Chris Arruda comments:

“Back to school represents a lot of challenges for families, especially for families that are kind of struggling to make ends meet,” says Arruda. “I think what we’re seeing and what we notice are families are having to pick between school supplies, paying the rent or paying the mortgage and having fresh, healthy food available.”

The fundraiser is 50/50 raffle with limited tickets available, sales close Friday, October 10 at noon, the draw will happen at 1:00 p.m. that day.

Proceeds raised through the raffle will go to the food bank to support their programming.
