Mount Washington invests $3 million into enhancements ahead of winter season opening

Mount Washington Alpine Resort is investing nearly $3 million to enhance the guest experience for the 2025/26 season.

About $1.5 million will go toward slope upgrades, including extensive brush cutting on runs such as Upper Westerley, Upper Exhibition, Riptide, Whiskey Jack and Fantastic, plus Nordic trails like Jutland and Disco Road.

The Tube Park now has new snowmaking infrastructure, and the beginner “Green Zone” carpet lift will feature expanded night lighting for the holidays and Family Friday Night operations.

The Hawk Chair received mechanical improvements, while operations added two new snowcats, a modern excavator, upgraded tracks for the fleet and other essential gear.

Early groundwork has also begun in the Bike Park to prepare for next summer’s riding season.

Outside the terrain, the resort upgraded its grounds with a new shuttle bus and improved parking.

Guest services received more than $1.3 million in enhancements, including a refresh of the Alpine Lodge and fully renovated washrooms on both the lodge’s main and upper levels.

Ted’s Bar got new flooring, a bar top and upgraded taps. The resort also hinted at a future new venue but did not provide details.

Almost $200,000 worth of rental gear was added for both alpine and Nordic rental centres.

Mount Washington continues to aim for a season opening on Dec. 12.
