Courtenay Fire responds to weekend MVA

Late Saturday night, Courtenay Fire crews made their way to the scene of an MVA on Headquarters Road in Courtenay.

Courtenay Fire Chief Don Bardonnex says they responded to the scene at around 10:30 PM.

He says upon arrival, they found the car suspended by a couple of tress on the side of the road. Bardonnex adds the trees were cut up and the man was taken out of the vehicle on a basket stretcher.

Bardonnex adds the patient did suffer some head injuries, but couldn’t speak to the extent of those. The man behind the wheel was taken to hospital.

The investigation into that Saturday night MVA is under investigation.
