RCMP continue to combat phone scam

Despite going full tilt for several months, this familiar scam continues to rattle nerves, especially among seniors in the region and on Vancouver Island.

That from Comox Valley RCMP Constable Don Sinclair on a phone scam where fraud artists call you up pretending to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, saying you owe back taxes.

Constable Sinclair says detachments throughout the region continue to field public complaints on that phone scam, however police officials advise residents not to call the RCMP on this as they have been flooded with phone calls.
