Parents could claim money if strike not over by September

The B.C. Government is willing to pay parents who have children under the age of thirteen $40 dollars per day, per child to help pay for childcare costs if the ongoing teachers’ strike isn’t settled by the time classes are due back in September.

Finance Minster Mike De Jong has said the money would come out of the provincial savings collected during the strike; those figures are reportedly in the range of $178 million.
