Royston to host World Down Syndrome Day Dance on March 21

The Vancouver Island Down Syndrome Society is inviting the community to Royston this weekend to mark World Down Syndrome Day.

The society is hosting a dance Saturday, March 21, at Fallen Alders Hall.

The event will begin with a children’s dance from 3:30 to 5 p.m., followed by a teen and adult dance from 6 to 9 p.m.

“This local event aims to bring the community together in a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy music, dancing and connection,” said a press release.

The event will feature a live DJ, a food truck, prize draws and a 50/50 raffle.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed each year on March 21 to raise awareness and celebrate the abilities and contributions of people with Down syndrome.
