Minister of Veterans Affairs visits the Valley

Canada’s Veterans Affairs Minister recently made a visit to the Island.

Erin O’Toole says he was meeting with Courtenay-Alberni Conservative candidate John Duncan and North-Island Powell River’s Laura Smith.

Together they hosted various question and answer periods to focus on the state of veteran affairs leading up to this year’s Federal election.

He says one of those new needs is mental health care for veterans and their families.

O’Toole adds there’s a lot of momentum in BC and on the Island going into this year’s election.

He adds the goal going into the vote is to keep a stable economy and keep Canada safe and strong.

Canadians head to the polls on October 19th.
