Getting set to vote

The 2015 Federal vote is just a few short weeks away. If you’re registered to vote you should have received your Voter Information Card from Elections Canada by now.

The cards went out in late September, and if you don’t have it yet you should contact Elections Canada.

Dorothy Sitek of Elections Canada says there’s a key deadline to keep in mind. If you plan to use a mail-in ballot, you have to apply by 6:00 pm on October 13th.

Sitek adds there’s also an online option that wasn’t around in the last election.

Sitek says if you have special needs around accessibility at the polling station, you should talk to Elections Canada, in case you need to be assigned to a different voting place.

More information on all things voting can be found through the Elections Canada website.
