Not Your Average Debate Night

Tomorrow night, you can head to the Courtenay Legion for an event called #NotYourAverageDebateNight.

It’s an evening run by the We, The Voters campaign. The group looks to inform youth about the importance of voting in elections.

Courtenay city councilor David Frisch is one of the main supporters of the group. He says the night is about passing along information to young voters.

Frisch says some local candidates in this year’s election will be on hand.

He adds it’s a free event, and everyone is welcome.

Frisch says he hopes this event leads to a stronger youth voter turnout come election time. The event goes from 6 to 9. You can find out more through the event’s Facebook page.
