Comox Valley RCMP searching for a vehicle after hit-and-run Monday

Comox Valley RCMP are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle following a hit-and-run collision May 4 in Courtenay.

Police said officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to a report of a collision at the intersection of Vanier Drive and Cliffe Avenue involving a vehicle that fled after colliding with a motorcyclist.

Dashcam footage provided to police suggests the suspect vehicle is a grey, four-door Honda Civic with an unknown licence plate.

The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Highway 19A and likely sustained front-end damage in the collision.

BC Emergency Health Services transported the motorcyclist to hospital, where the rider received treatment for minor injuries.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, observed the suspect vehicle or has dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact Comox Valley RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
