Inaugural Jet Rocks the Park event to take place at Cumberland May Days

Three Vancouver Island bands will perform this weekend at the inaugural Jet Rocks the Park event.

Unwind, Exit 30 and the Brent Sinclair Quintet will perform Sunday, May 17, as part of Cumberland May Days.

Exit 30 said they cover a wide range of music and come from diverse backgrounds.

“It’s a big melting pot of music but a lot of rock, funk, metal, blues, classical and we throw it all together.”

The band originates from Campbell River, while Unwind is based in Ucluelet and the Brent Sinclair Quintet calls the Comox Valley home.

The concert runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Village Park.

The event is part of Cumberland May Days, which has taken place over the Victoria Day weekend since 1919.

The weekend includes a bean supper, soapbox derby, mountain biking event, Maypole dancing and a petting zoo, and concludes with a parade Monday, May 18 at 10 a.m. down Dunsmuir Avenue.
