Draft Saratoga Beach local area plan nearly ready for community feedback

Residents will soon have a chance to share their thoughts on the future of Saratoga Beach.

The draft local area plan for Saratoga Beach is nearly ready for review and can be viewed online or at an open house at the Oyster River Fire Hall on June 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) general manager of planning and development services Alana Mullaly said all residents and interested parties can share their thoughts.

“This is a crucial opportunity for residents and interested parties to confirm the community’s priorities before the plan is finalized and to help guide its implementation in the future.”

The draft plan outlines objectives and policies that will shape how the community evolves over the next five to 10 years.

Development of the plan has been guided by extensive public input through surveys, open houses and focus groups.

After the open house and public feedback period, the CVRD said the project will move to phase four, which includes final revisions and adoption by the CVRD board later this summer.
