Black Creek-Oyster Bay water restrictions kick in

The Comox Valley Regional District is getting out the word to homeowners connected to the Black
Creek-Oyster Bay water service, that effective right now water use will be restricted to domestic
consumption and the use of water for outdoor purposes should be done by a hand-held hose equipped with
an automatic shut-off nozzle.

Goat News spoke with Koreen Gurak at the regional district this afternoon for the latest on this story.

The river well that supplies water in the hot summer summer months was taken off-line after high water consumption levels forced the CVRD to carry out some work this week on the system.

Therefore, until further notice the following water activities are prohibited.

 Watering of any kind using by automatic irrigation systems or sprinklers.

 Filling a hot tub or garden pond.
