Mount Washington Firehall project officially breaks ground

Construction on the new Mount Washington fire hall is officially underway.

On May 28, the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) broke ground on the project, which has been in development since 2021 to support emergency response and community protection.

Electoral Area C director Edwin Grieve said he is pleased to see construction begin.

“As the community continues to grow along with increased wildfire risks, the needs for this fire hall are vital to the residents.”

Momentum Design Build has been selected as the construction management firm for the project.

The facility will include truck bays to store response vehicles and other firefighting equipment.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall.
