6th annual Music in the Park event in Comox September 6

The Town of Comox is getting ready for the sixth annual Music in the Park concert.

The free, family-friendly event runs Sept. 6 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the lower gazebo in Comox Marina Park.

The afternoon will feature hip-hop, soul, reggae fusion, folk, jazz and funk, with Blasé Blasé as the headliner.

Other performers include Victoria-based Posh Coat, Generous Thieves and Dug Nugget.

“This event has become a favourite September long weekend tradition for many residents and visitors,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “We invite everyone to bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the talented performers, support local food trucks, and spend an afternoon celebrating community together.”

The concert will go ahead rain or shine, but organizers say people should check the Comox Community Centre’s Facebook page for updates if heavy rain is expected.
