It’s a changing of the guard at Cumberland Fire Rescue.
Fire Chief Mike Williamson is retiring after 52 years of service.
Williamson spent 38 years as a volunteer with Cumberland Fire Rescue, including serving as president of the Cumberland Firefighters Society. He has been the Village of Cumberland’s manager of protective services since 2012.
“Fire Chief Williamson has navigated the demands of a growing community and made great strides to strengthen Cumberland Fire Rescue’s capabilities,” said a statement from the village. “His contributions will be remembered with gratitude for years to come.”
A retirement open house will be held Sept. 29 at Cumberland Fire Rescue Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. to celebrate Williamson’s career and contributions.
