Earthquakes shake waters southwest of Port Hardy

Emergency officials say there were no reports of damage or injuries after a series of earthquakes shook off the coast of Vancouver Island overnight.

Three earthquakes were recorded off the Island between Sunday night and early Monday morning.

The first measured 4.9, followed by a magnitude 5.4 earthquake about two hours later.

A third earthquake, measuring 5.2, struck the same area early Monday morning.

The earthquakes were recorded west of Port Hardy, with the largest occurring about 166 kilometres west-southwest of the community.

EmergencyInfoBC says there is no tsunami threat to B.C.
