Fundraiser launched for injured Comox boy

A fundraiser has been launched to help a Comox family after a boy suffered serious burns in an accident involving a wood stove.

The GoFundMe campaign, organized by family friends Kristie Kerrigan and Laura Lidstone, says Cooper was injured on Oct. 21 and airlifted to the intensive care unit at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

The fundraiser will help cover expenses such as ferry travel, food and comfort items as his family supports him through a long recovery.

As of noon Wednesday, the campaign had raised more than $9,200 toward its $11,000 goal.
