Cumberland eases water restrictions

Recent rainfall has allowed the Village of Cumberland to ease water restrictions to Stage 1.

The change took effect Oct. 29, allowing residents to water their lawns with sprinklers twice a week, depending on their address.

Homes with even-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while odd-numbered addresses are permitted to water on Thursdays and Sundays.

Watering is allowed from 4 to 10 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Residents can also water gardens, trees and shrubs at any time using a hand-held container, a hose with a shut-off nozzle or a drip-irrigation system.
