Top 40 under 40 nominations now open

After a successful Top 40 Under 40 Awards event in 2012, the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it is seeking nominations for this year’s Top 40 Under 40 recipients.

On Thursday, October 30, 2014, the Chamber of Commerce will once again recognize 40 individuals under 40 for their ongoing and exemplary contributions to the community.

Recipients are residents of the Comox Valley and demonstrate excellence in business, scholastics, athletics, community involvement and/or contributions to the non-profit sector.

Award recipients will be honoured at a gala cocktail reception and dance at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community.

“The Chamber knows without a doubt, that there are an incredible amount of high-caliber young professionals under the age of 40 in our community who are deserving of recognition,” states Dianne Hawkins, President and CEO, the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Individual nominations – over the age of 12 and under the age of 40 (as of December 31, 2014) – will be accepted from noon, Friday, July 11 until noon, Friday, September 11, 2014.

Individuals may be nominated by family, friends or co-workers. No self-nominations will be accepted. It is important to note that nominees or the organization they represent, do not have to be members of the Chamber of Commerce in order to qualify, but must be current, full-time residents of the Comox Valley for at least two years.

Other awards criteria includes:

  • Must be doing something extraordinary to significantly improve their respective business, non-profit organization or school
  • Doing something amazing that directly benefits the local or global community
  • Demonstrate leadership and integrity in business and/or community
  • Has been recognized by his or her peers/industry for outstanding contributions to business and/or community

“Considerable effort goes into the entire awards process,” says Hawkins. “It’s a terrific opportunity for the Comox Valley to recognize upcoming business leaders and entrepreneurs in our community who demonstrate professional success and responsibility at a relatively young age.”

The Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking corporate sponsorship and welcomes inquiries relating to how businesses and individuals can support this awards program. Let the awards nomination process begin!
