A boil water advisory has been issued for the Cumberland water system.
Cumberland CAO Sundance Topham maintains that it’s ONLY for the village of Cumberland, and NOT for Royston, which is also a part of the Cumberland water system.
Topham says they’ve forwarded a new sample to Island Health in order to find out when the boil water advisory can be lifted. The village wants to maintain that the boil water advisory ONLY affects the village, and does not affect the Royston area.
Comox Valley Regional District reps have confirmed this does not affect the Comox Valley water system.
