It was a great weekend for the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. The defending VIJHL champion Campbell River Storm were in town for a Saturday night matchup at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

The crowd was on their feet supporting the Yetis. But the Storm struck first, with Dylan McCann scoring for Campbell River at the 5:12 mark.

But before the period came to a close, Curtis Csuk tied things up. The second period was all Comox Valley, as they scored 3 goals to Campbell River’s 1.

Going into the final frame of play, it was 4-2 Comox Valley. That didn’t change in the third period, and when it was all said and done, Comox Valley skated away with the 4-2 win.

Curtis Csuk was named the first star of the game. The Glacier Kings are currently in 3rd place in the VIJHL North Division. They sit behind the 1st place Storm and 2nd place Nanaimo Buccaneers.

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings are back in action on Wednesday against the Westshore Wolves at the Q Centre. Game time is 7:00 PM.
