A referendum is being held later this month to decide whether the Comox Valley Regional District will set up a service to provide funds to support homelessness initiatives.
A non-binding public opinion vote was held as part of last year’s civic election, with a majority of voters saying they would be in favor of money being collected and put toward homelessness initiatives.
Corporate Legislative Officer James Warren says this referendum is the next step in moving forward.
