Komox Grind parklet to remain open over the winter

The Town of Comox has extended permission for a popular parklet to remain open over the winter. Council voted to expand the trial at the Komox Grind into a permanent program.

A parklet is a small outdoor patio, set up in a parking stall.

Councillor Maureen Swift says the outdoor space has proved popular with the public.

Swift says the overall goal is to create more outdoor social spaces and encourage pedestrian traffic.

Swift notes one of the advantages of our area is our mild winters mean residents can take advantage of these kind of outdoor spaces year-round. For more on the Komox Grind, check out their Facebook page.
