Public forum held on the future of the Field Sawmill site

Project Watershed has been working hard as part of their plan to restore the old Field Sawmill site.

They recently held a public forum, and spokesperson Paul Horgen says 155 residents showed up to voice their support. Horgen says the idea is to clean up the site and restore it so it can provide a salt marsh shoreline, much like the Hollyhock Flats.

Horgen says the next step is to get the project on the Nature Conservancy’s priority list, and connect with Interfor, the owners of the property.

Horgen says you can sign a petition to help with the goal through Project Watershed’s website.
