Islands Trust hoping for big things from Trudeau at Climate Change Conference

The Islands Trust is hoping for big things from the Trudeau government as it gets ready for the UN climate conference in Paris, taking place November 30th to December 11th.

The Trust has written the Prime Minister, urging him to “take a constructive role at the conference and strive for a legally binding agreement that will reduce Canada’s emissions”.

Chair Peter Luckham says in many ways the Islands are on the front line when it comes to climate change, through things like sea level rise and extreme weather.

The letter points out that Islands Trust officials are doing all they can, but the work won’t amount to much without a significant global effort.
