Air Quality Advisory for the Comox Valley

An air quality advisory has been issued for the Comox Valley.

Air Quality Meteorologist Earle Plain says there’s a high pressure system over the region right now. That high pressure system suppresses vertical mixing and traps emissions from all sources near the surface. That has led to a gradual buildup of fine particulates in the Valley.

Open burning restrictions will be in place for the next 3 days within 15 kilometres of Courtenay City Hall. For more information and updates on current air quality, visit bcairquality.ca.
