Celebrating Buy Local Week

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce is recognizing Buy Local Week.

CEO Dianne Hawkins says people in this region are very good about supporting local businesses. She says there is a strong sense of pride in the Comox Valley.

Hawkins says there are big benefits to shopping local. She notes that local businesses recirculate 2.6 times more revenue within the community compared to chain stores.

She says Buy Local Week comes at a perfect time of the year, with residents going around to do their holiday shopping.
