Arrests made in vehicle thefts

Mounties are reminding people to ensure vehicles are locked and not to leave valuables in plain sight.

Comox Valley RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says 5 individuals have been arrested following a recent string of thefts.

He says during the investigation, 7 vehicles were reported stolen between December 4th and December 8th.

He adds all of the vehicles had been left unlocked. 3 adults and 2 youths were arrested as a result of the investigation.

Gardner says theft of and from vehicles are crimes of opportunity and are easy to prevent by locking your car doors and keeping valuables out of sight.
