The Comox Valley has a new representative on the Island Health Authority Board.

Former Courtenay Mayor Starr Winchester has joined the organization’s board.

Island Health Board Chair Don Hubbard says Winchester’s time in local government and her years in the banking industry made her an ideal candidate for the position.

Hubbard says the board has also added another position, which is being filled by retired lawyer and former Campbell River City Councillor Claire Moglove.

Moglove will begin her term on the board December 31st.
