Aboriginal Sport Awards

A new program has been launched to recognize excellence in Aboriginal Sport.

The awards were developed by the Province in partnership with the First Nations Health Authority, the Friendship Centres, and the Metis Nation BC.

Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender says the awards will recognize 6 male and 6 female athletes.

Fassbender says nominations are now open and can be submitted through the Aboriginal Sport BC website.

The athletes will be honoured at the 2016 Gathering of Our Voices Conference in March.
