Busy weekend for Courtenay Fire crews

The Courtenay Fire Department was kept busy this weekend, responding to multiple calls.

Deputy Fire Chief Kurt McDonald says they attended the scene for 3 motor vehicle accidents; one on Highway 19A at Cotton Road, another in front of the Comox Valley Dodge building on the South Island Highway, as well as Sunday’s fatal off the Dyke road, where a 72-year-old woman’s vehicle ended up in the Comox estuary.

McDonald says questions still remain as to what happened in each case, and investigations are ongoing.

If you have any information on the weekend motor vehicle accidents, contact the Comox Valley RCMP.
