The City of Courtenay’s outdoor pool has officially closed for the season due to a mechanical failure.
Recreation Coordinator Reagan Spence says they were scheduled to close the pool for the season on Friday, so it’s just a few days early.
She says they hope to have the pool up and running for next summer. Unfortunately, it also means the Hawaiian outdoor pool party that was set for Friday has been cancelled.
The water park at the Lewis Center will remain open until mid-September. It’s free to enter and it’s open from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm daily.
