The Province has approved a new program to allow military members to transfer military driving qualifications to the civilian world.
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone says the goal is to recognize the training military personnel receive on the job.
Stone says the move is a win-win, as it helps military personnel transition to the civilian world after they leave the military and provides more qualified commercial truck drivers, which the province recognizes is one of the areas forecasted to have a skills shortage in the coming years.
