Rotary Club looking to add new trail in Cumberland
The Rotary Club of Cumberland has put forward a proposal for a new trail in the Village.
Mayor Leslie Baird says the idea is to connect the CRI parking lot out to the campground at the lake. She says it would connect it so that there would be non-motorized access to the grounds because parking can sometimes be an issue during the summer months.
She adds it would also aid with safety concerns. Baird says kids love biking out to the park on the summer months and the current road isn’t necessarily the safest route for bikers. She says an alternate path would be much safer for those wishing to bike to the campground area.
Staff has been directed to bring a report back to council on the feasibility of the project.
