RCMP investigating theft of firearms after Valley break-in

A recent break-and-enter and theft of firearms has led to the RCMP reminding residents about the importance of safely and legally storing your weapons.

Comox Valley RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says a home was broken into some time between February 10th and 13th on the 2800 block of Muir Road in Courtenay.

He says a bevy of items were stolen: 2 Maverick pump action 12-gauge shot guns, 2 savage Edge 22-250 rifles, 1 Russian SKS 30-06 rifle and 1 Mossberg .22 rifle. Gardner adds 2 laptops and a Bowie knifew were also taken in the break-in.

Gardner says this is a powerful reminder to safely and legally store your firearms.
