Coldest Night of the Year event sees huge turnout

This weekend, Comox Valley residents banded together for the Coldest Night of the Year event.

It helped raise awareness about homelessness issues in the area.

The Comox Valley edition of the country-wide event helped raise funds for the Comox Valley Transition Society and Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society.

Dawn to Dawn President Richard Clark says it was a great event.

The goal of the event was to raise $50,000 and Clark says they surpassed that – raising approx. $54,565.91 in the Comox Valley. For more information about the Coldest Night of the Year, visit the event’s official website.

The turnout showed that although it may be called the “coldest” night of the year, the event certainly warmed plenty of hearts.
