Standing Committee Looking at Future of Comox MCTS

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans is investigating the planned closure of the Comox Marine Communication and Traffic Services Centre.

North Island – Powell River MP Rachel Blaney has been pushing for the government to stop the planned closure of the station.

She says she’s pleased the committee has decided to look at the issue.

Blaney says closing the coast guard station in Comox will negatively effect the coast guard’s ability to respond to emergencies up and down the BC Coast.
