The BC Government is moving forward with new legislation to target irresponsible breeders of dogs and cats.
Minister of Agriculture Norm Letnick says the goal is to ensure those breeding animals are kept to the highest standards possible.
He says the first step will be adopting the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association’s Codes of Practice.

Letnick says goal is to have the consultations complete by the end of this year, with the new legislation in place in 2017.
