TimberWest worker dies at Bonanza Lake site near Port McNeill

WorkSafe BC and the RCMP are investigating after a fatal accident at a TimberWest operation near Port McNeill. The company says the fatal accident occurred Friday afternoon involving one of TimberWest’s contractor’s employees at the Bonanza Lake operations.

In a statement from TimberWest released Friday, CEO Jeff Zweig described the event as a tragic accident. The cause of death has not been released, but the company said the man was moving his equipment at the time. Grief counselling will be provided to workers at the site and operations were suspended today.
