Denman Cross Island Trail project moving forward

The next phase of the Denman Cross Island Trail is moving forward. The Comox Valley Regional District has approved $100,000 for the project.

Manager of Parks, Doug DeMarzo, says the ultimate goal is to connect the two ferry terminals with a multi-use trail.

He says they are aiming to begin work on phase three next year. He adds phase three will involve continuing the trail from Swan Road – covering another 1.4 to 2 km extension of the trail.

DeMarzo says work and community consultations will now begin on finalizing the alignment of the section of trail.
