Plenty of work this year at the John Hart Generating Station

There are multiple projects planned this year involving the John Hart Generating Station.

BC Hydro Spokesperson Stephen Watson says they’re completing work at the dam with new water intake, working on the new surge tower that will connect to the tunnel, as well as the power house cavern and the tunnels down below.

Watson says they have had over 10,000 individual job safety assessments completed by work teams on site for each activity they undertake. Watson says Hydro currently has 245 people working on the project in Campbell River.
